Founded in 1953, Advance Wire Products started by only using wire to create quality products such as Wire Baskets, Magazine Racks, Point Of Purchase Displays.
In 1980, AWP's reputation for making wire products led it to be purchased by a mattress company so they could make their own springs.
Shortly after 1980, AWP was ready to put their innovation to the test by taking on a new challenge; improving the look and functionality of fixtures in grocery stores. First, AWP was challenged to create an orchard bin that could be easily cleaned and shipped efficiently. The efficiency was created by designing patented brackets that allowed the bin to be broken down during shipping. The Orchard Bin quickly became AWPs most popular merchandising product for produce, reducing labor costs, and lasting for years. This program started in BC but spread throughout North America quickly. Over a 12 year period, AWP have installed over 500,000 Orchard Bins.
Next, AWP started designing and developing risers for store fixtures that would allow grocers to display seasonal items in a variety of ways.
Driven to providing clients with the best product, in 2007 AWP acquired a plastic vacuum forming company called Formit Plastics. Allowing AWP to manufacture all of their own plastic parts for the grocery fixtures. Including the tops for grocery fixtures, bulk bins, plastic pipe caps, and more. It also gave AWP the opportunity to work with any retailer if they required steel or plastic.
In 2017, AWP was acquired by a team of craftsman and professionals who have continued the tradition of offering innovation and solution based relationships.
In 2018, after a long partnership, AWP purchased Bond industries, a full service wood shop specializing in retail fixtures and medical office furniture.
From modest beginnings, experience, confidence, and innovation has allowed AWP to grow into a premium design, manufacturing, and fabrication company. From wire, to metal, to plastic, to wood, for retail, grocery, pharmacy, kiosks, AWP creates solutions for clients across the world, and we do it all in-house.
AWP continues to innovate as they develop and design retail fixtures, retail store fronts, medical office furniture, and solutions for any product made from metal, plastic or wood.
